| Li Zhaoxing Holds Political Negotiation with the "Troika Foreign Ministers" of the EU |

On October 8 2004, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who was accompanying Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council to attend the ASEM, held Political Negotiation with Foreign Minister Bot of EU Presidency the Netherlands, Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Asselborn of the next EU Presidency Luxemburg and persons in charge of the European Commission at Hanoi.
The two sides made active remarks on the development between China and Europe and thought it very important to hold the 7th EU-China Summit in the Netherlands at the end of this year. Common efforts should be made in order to ensure substantial progress of the Summit.
Other issues such as human rights, non-proliferation, anti-terrorism and DPRK nuclear issue were also mentioned during the talks.
On the same day, Li also met with Spanish First Vice President Fernandez de la Vega the two sides exchanged views on further expanding the bilateral exchanges in political, economic and cultural fields.
